Easter Recap

Unpopular opinion-- I love Easter way more than I love Christmas. I know, I know, everyone gets so excited about the festivity surrounding Christmas and doing all the cutesy fun things. But for me, it's cold, stressful, and hard to get excited about because it surrounds finals. Easter is full of pastels, spring weather, and far from finals. And besides, the nature of the holiday is a lot more positive. I've always loved the spirit of knowing why we celebrate the day and how great our God is!

Easter's also a lot bigger in our family because all of our extended family comes up. Last year was a weird year in that I was out of town at an event and unable to celebrate Easter, so this was the first year where it really felt like I was away from home. I wanted to make it feel like I wasn't missing out on much (though my heart hurt and I missed my fam!), so a few friends and I tried to make it a fun Easter away from home.

We went to Hope church, which normally isn't in this location, but their Easter service was at the Altria Theater in downtown Richmond and was incredibly cool! The inside was so beautiful and it was amazing to be surrounded by so many happy people!

Then we went to the Continental for brunch: easily one of my favorite places in Richmond. There aren't many places I've been more than once, but the Continental is one of those places! Great location and great food/portions for not too bad of a price.

I had never been there for brunch so I was even more pumped. And when all of our food came out, we all just about screamed. It was so beautiful and even more tasty. Shouts to my foodie friend Kristina for these photos below!

This was my meal.

Does this not have you salivating?! Absolutely all so good! I'm trying to put together an interactive list of restaurants and shops in Richmond to go to because I get so many questions about the city of Richmond-- so keep your eye out for that!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter!

Isaiah 26:19 -- "But your dead will live, LORD; their bodies will rise-- let those who dwell in the dust wake up and shout for joy-- your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead."
