July 7th is a big day

Well, good morning, what a day for a brief blog post! If you follow me on any form of social media, you'd probs see my obsession of the fourth of July from this whole weekend, more to come later!

But today's a holiday in my family, it's my sister's (Shelby) 15th birthday, and my dad's birthday! I seriously have no clue what I'd do without them!

I'm so happy to have such a great dad (even when he's making fun of me for how I pose in pictures) that helps me with so much in life, whether it be just plain friendships or career advice, he's my go-to. Love ya, Daddy-o!

A sister is just such a gift to be grateful for. She's my best friend, regardless of her being 3 years younger, and will always be the one I can tell absolutely anything to. And we live together, ya know, so she has to like me. She's the funniest person I know and always cracks me up and I'm so lucky to call her my sister! I could write a novel about both of them and how much I love them, but for now, a sweet happy birthday to each of them!

A year ago today was also the first day of LBW (Leadership in the Business World, a business program with Wharton), which doesn't seem real. A year ago today, I got on a plane all by myself and flew from Boston to San Francisco. I flew, by myself, which was the first landmark, got there and didn't know one soul, not one single person, and from there, each day just got better and better. I will never, ever be able to describe how much LBW changed my life and how incredibly grateful I am for it! I look back at all of my mementos, my notebook where I probably wrote a novel taking notes from some of the most influential business people and professors, my bus passes on a scavenger hunt, my scribbles from staying up at all hours of the night to work on our business plan, our (winning) business plan and team itself, and all of the incredible friends and memories I made there. You always think you'll make friends and forget about them a week later, but I still stay super close to some of them and feel like everyone I went with is my family! We all went through college admissions together and that last July, when everyone could only thinking about getting into that one school, and now we're in this July, where everyone's stoked about their decisions, regardless of which school it is. I met 120 of the coolest people from all over the world that have accomplished the most amazing things and I'm proud to know them! So thank you, LBW, for giving me the most incredible summer last year and continuing to teach me things I never thought possible.

I could post 29482032948 more photos, but this last one of my whole family will have to do.

Lots of anniversaries/birthdays today! And more to come on a fun patriotic weekend!

xoxo,
Meredith
