Dear Future College Roommate

Dear future college roommate,

Maybe you feel awkward because you were creeping on my social media when our housing decisions were released (because hopefully we're similar enough to be big creepers) and you thought, "Well, dang, I got the weird blog girl."

I'm really sorry. You probably think it's weird and that I'm weird, or maybe you think it's cool, but you probably just think it's weird. I'm a blogger and no, that doesn't mean that I like to get on tumblr or that I wrote one blog post once, it means that all the whackadoo things that bloggers do and obsess over, I do too. It may be a little difficult to explain that I have my little corner of the internet world that I curate and call my own, and yes, I enjoy doing it without getting paid for it. Yes, I write about my life and other various things. I even write posts like this apologizing to a roommate I don't even know yet. I'm sorry if I ask you to take a couple of pictures, but don't worry, I probably won't until we get to know each other better and you know that my legs hyperextend and I have to work them so that they don't look messed up. I'm sorry if I take a little bit longer to get somewhere because I'm trying to take or edit a picture or if I randomly exclaim "that would be a good blog post!" If I ask to write a funny story about you or something we did, remind me that you got stuck with me and you shouldn't have to be on the internet if you don't want to. I'm sorry if I obsess over my social media more than your average 18 year old girl, and I'm sorry if I stay up late writing a blog post. I'm sorry if I blame something on 'Monogram Meredith' or talk about it as if it's a different person, and I'm sorry in general that everything of mine is monogrammed, but I bet you'll figure that out when we move in.

Hopefully, I won't actually have to apologize for all these things and you won't think of me as weird. In all honesty, I hope you have something quirky too that we can bond over and you can join me in joys of Instagram pics and Kate Spade sales and laugh over funny search terms. Please. Just don't think I'm weird.

I'm just a fun-lovin person that likes writing and taking pictures, look:

  1. This is so funny! I love how you apologized for being obsessed with monograms.

  2. Meredith,
Can I just say that not only is this post adorable, but that anyone would be lucky to room with you in college! I can tell from reading your posts that you're such a genuine, caring, and kind person that would be awesome to live with. And hey, who doesn't love a few monograms here and there? Good luck :)

    Stay Fabulous

    1. Awww Melissa, this made my day!! Thank you so much!!

      xoxo, Meredith

  3. This is too cute! I felt the same way before I got my roommate last year. Turned out, she didn't have a single form of social media and she absolutely hated being in pictures. Yet, despite all of that, we really bonded over our love of old movies, 90s music, and and beauty bloggers! I was a little sad when she opted to stay in the dorms instead of moving to the on-campus apartments with me this fall.

    Toodlebelle's Blog

    1. As a blogger, it seems so funny to not have one type of social media at all!! Hahaha thank you for sharing, that really does make me feel better!! :)

      xoxo, Meredith

Well thank ya for wanting to leave a comment! I love reading what you think! xoxo
