on my mind

Oooooh, guys, it's another snow day. As is the rest of the country (I think), IT IS COLD. I don't ever remember it getting to be where the windchill is NEGATIVE 23 DEGREES. I live in Kentucky, not Chicago (records could possibly be broken at -45!), and I don't live far enough south so that it's warm all the time. I mean, oh well, but at least that means there's no school today! Be prepped for your Insta feed to be full of snow photos.

So, if you're sitting in bed like me because you don't have school, are still in bed because you're in college and don't have to go back yet, or even if you're not in bed and want some cool things to read and look at, here ya go.

1.) Jumping Bama Fan Set to Wrecking Ball
This is so incredibly funny. Football in Alabama is serious, kay??

2.) What Do Dress Codes Say About Girls' Bodies?
I'm not one get all huffy and puffy about the dress code, until someone talks about its intentions of a dress code only existing to prevent distractions. I posted this on Twitter and it was actually interesting how many girls favorited it. Most definitely worth reading about how they say dress codes take power from girls.

3.) Style: It's Not a Popularity Contest
My friend and I were joking the other day about how we feel like we're always promoting the stuff that our LBW friends do, and of course, here's me at it again. But instead, this is from an RTA (Residential Team Advisor), Taylor, one of the sweetest people I've ever met. (When she picked me up at the airport and she was literally the first person I met, I knew I was in good hands). BUT ANYWAY, she has a blog and I absolutely adore it. It's amazing. One of her best posts is linked, and then here's another one where she so eloquently explains her views on the whole Duck Dynasty thing.  Excellent writer, I hope you all read her blog!

4.) New phone cases from SimplyMonogram!
Suuuuper pumped about these phone cases for my sister and I. They came so quickly, are absolutely adorable, and are much, much cheaper than a lot of other stores. Definitely check them out!

5.) My city made the list for The Top 10 Smartest Cities in America!
Awwww heck yeah, Lexington, you go, Lexington. This is honestly one of the greatest places to live.

6.) Again, another phenomenal article about 18 Things Women Shouldn't Have to Justify.
I get so frustrated when I have to defend myself for the things I do. This is a must-read!

7.) Organization
Part of one of my goals for the New Year was organizing myself, and it's all been a work in progress! It being too cold to want to do anything has led me to change some things around. All of the adorable desks on Pinterest and Tumblr just get me thinking about how I want to be organized like that! But I've started with my jewelry and I'm so happy with it. (More to come later!)

Well, I hope you enjoy your day and don't get too cold!

Alsoooooo, some of y'all might have seen the post I had up yesterday for about six hours. I realized that there were some settings that needed to be configured with my domain and then it'll all be working again! And if you didn't see it... haha, no worries, I'll post it when it's all better.

xoxo,
Meredith

  2. Enjoy you're day off! Where I am, -23F (~-30C) is freezing, but typical winter weather, but today they're calling for 9C (~48F) and tons of rain - a warm spring day! It's crazy!

    1. That's absolutely insane!! Yesterday it was incredibly warm and raining as if it were summer, what's up with all of this?! And I saw that you live in Canada- I know not everywhere in Canada is the same, but I read somewhere that some parts are as cold as the surface of Mars!! Just bundling up with some hot coffee and blankets.
