Fudge Brownies

Guys, I honestly have no clue how it is ACTUALLY DECEMBER 23RD. Seriously.... Christmas is my favorite holiday and this year I just... forgot about it? How could that be?? It saddens me but I know that these next few days are going to be so sweet (literally, though, someone gave me peanut butter balls and cookies and I think I'm going to have a cavity).

Speaking of sweet, remember how I wrote about my brownies on Thanksgiving being awesome? I'm finally sharing the recipe!

I found these on Sally's Baking Addiction (duh) and even though they're supposed to be peanut butter chip brownies, I didn't have any peanut butter chips, so I just used normal semi-sweet chocolate chips. They were so chocolaty and so fudgy that I could only eat two at the time. Which is pretty weak because I'm normally inhaling the whole batch.

(Also, these are orange only because they were Halloween themed or something. Completely chocolate.)

Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 & 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup & 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8-inch square or 11x7 baking pan with parchment paper so that it overhangs on the sides. This is very important!
  • Melt the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a large bowl in the microwave until butter is completely melted. In a large mixing bowl, add in the melted mixture, then the eggs, one at a time. Add the flour without overmixing it; you don't want it to be too goopy. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour into the prepared dish and bake for 30 minutes, then pull out with the parchment paper (this is where you're grateful you have it). It'll seem like it's taking a long time to bake, so let it set before cutting into it. Enjoy!
xoxo,
Meredith

PS: Today's one of my good friend's birthdays! Happy birthday, Andrew!
