Keeneland

Keeneland is full of the competitive, Kentucky pride that I love. It's honestly one of my favorite things about living in Lexington. You don't have to own or ride horses, but going to the famous Lexington race tracks to watch the horses race, see everyone you know in their Keeneland finest, and just be a part of the enthusiasm is the best.

I got to go yesterday and had a blast!

One thing that I love, even though some people will disagree, is that there are always so many people...the more people, the more fun. You can look up just see tons of people, of all sorts, just having a good time.

The weather was absolutely crazy. On our way there, it had sprinkled a little, but then it was really humid and sticky. My smooth, straightened hair had turned into a ball of frizz. And then later, it started to absolutely pour down rain. I mean, I had never seen anything like this. When we walked back to the car (a long walk, I might add), it was all we could do to not squeeze our clothes and let the water come out.

You know, we tried to tell Kirby that even though we live in Kentucky, you still have to wear shoes... (haha, totally kidding. Remember when I wrote about things you hear when you're from Kentucky? Not wearing shoes is one of them.) But I've learned that when you're wearing your Jack Rogers and don't want to ruin them, throw a pair of cheap flip flops in your purse. They may not be the cutest, but it's so worth it on days like this.

I was so excited to wear this dress. I bought it while I was gone and finally had a chance to wear it. The bow in the back and the fact that it's coral made me fall absolutely in love with it.

Again, there's something so exhilarating about the whole atmosphere of Keeneland. It may have rained like no other, but I'm obsessed with it. Goodness gracious, I'm just a proud Lexingtonian.

What do you love about where you live?

xoxo,
Meredith
